Welding has always been a core sector for Tiesse Robot, where the company has long delivered high-performance technological solutions by designing and building precise, versatile robotic systems based on Kawasaki industrial robots.
The automation of welding - arc, spot and laser - marks a key milestone in the evolution of modern manufacturing, enabling production targets to be met with greater quality, efficiency, precision and reliability, while also optimising processes and costs.
With decades of experience and hundreds of installations completed, Tiesse Robot has developed a modular, ready-to-use robotic welding cell designed to ensure fast installation and maximum operational flexibility.
System structure
- Kawasaki robot (e.g. RA06L), configurable to suit the type of welding and workpiece geometry.
- Pulsed arc MIG/MAG power source (e.g. Fronius TPS500i Pulse), integrable via JOB or REFERENCE modes.
- Water-cooled torch, wire feeder, torch support with magnetic repositioning.
- Automatic torch cleaning system (PMT), liquid cooling and fume extraction hood.
- Perimeter guarding and safety devices (photoelectric cells, limit switches, safety light curtains).
The heart of the cell: Tiesse Robot P20V positioner
Designed, built and tested in-house by Tiesse Robot, the P20V is a twin-headstock interpolated positioner with 180° station rotation, available in three versions with a load capacity of 300, 500 or 1000 kg per station.
Its structure enables synchronised rotation with the robot, allowing continuous welding even on moving parts. Station changeover is quick and safe thanks to the physical separation of work areas, and loading/unloading operations can be carried out in masked time, significantly reducing downtime.
The advantages of the Tiesse Robot modular welding cell
The robotic cell developed by Tiesse Robot stands out for its modular and configurable structure, designed to adapt precisely to a wide range of applications. Each system component - from the robot to the power source and the positioner - is selected and sized to fit the application, starting from a standard layout.
This design approach ensures a significant reduction in installation and commissioning times, allowing for smooth integration into existing production environments. Thanks to its twin-station setup and interpolated positioner, the cell enables loading and unloading operations to be carried out in parallel with the welding cycle, eliminating machine downtime and maintaining a continuous workflow.
The system is also ready for integration with digital monitoring platforms, parameter tracking and interconnection with company IT systems, in line with Industry 4.0 requirements.
The added value of Tiesse Robot lies in its ability to support customers throughout the entire process, from system design to commissioning, including operator training and maintenance. This hands-on experience, built across hundreds of installed systems, translates into robust performance and consistent, long-term results.
